Paul McCartney a commencé son tout premier concert en Israël en s’adressant à la foule avec un chaleureux «Shalom Tel Aviv».
«Un concert dont on souviendra», titre le quotidien israélien Haaretz, au lendemain du grand concert de Paul McCartney, à Tel Aviv. «Le public s’est laissé emporter par sa magie», renchérit le journal.
L’ancien Beatle, accompagné de 30 musiciens, a commencé son tout premier concert en Israël en s’adressant à la foule avec un chaleureux «Shalom Tel Aviv».
«Chana Tova. Ramadan Karim», a-t-il lancé, souhaitant en hébreu et en arabe une bonne année aux juifs et un bon ramadan aux musulmans avec un sourire malicieux, avant de reprendre «Hello, Goodbye».
Dans le même esprit, il a entonné le célèbre «Give peace a chance» (donnez une chance à la paix) de John Lennon, ajoutant «faites la paix, faites la paix».
Près de 50.000 billets avaient été vendus pour l’événement, malgré des tarifs élevés allant de 100 à 1000 euros.
L’artiste de 66 ans répondait à l’invitation des autorités israéliennes qui en janvier dernier ont présenté leurs excuses pour avoir claqué la porte il y a plus de quarante ans au groupe britannique.
A l’époque, le concert avait été annulé faute de subvention publique, alors que des députés avaient exprimé la crainte qu’un tel événement ne pervertisse la jeunesse.
