Le légendaire Beatles, qui a fait l?objet de menaces de mort en raison de sa prestation prévue en Israël à l?occasion des célébrations du 60e anniversaire du pays le 25 septembre, a reçu un bouquin du chef bouddhiste qui lui a donné espoir et courage.
Paul McCartney, qui a été prévenu par l?extrémiste islamiste Omar Bakri de garder ses distances «s?il tenait à sa vie», a dit: «Je suis à lire un livre, The Universe in a Single Atom, que m?a fait parvenir le dalaï-lama. Il compare une certaine philosophie bouddhiste à la physique quantique.

Le musicien de 66 ans, qui a trouvé l?amour auprès de la millionnaire américaine Nancy Shevell depuis son divorce avec Heather Mills, a été invité à monter sur scène en Israël, plus de 40 ans après que le pays ait interdit l?accès aux Beatles par crainte de corruption de la jeunesse.
Le groupe devait s?y produire en 1965, mais après avoir prétendu que leur musique pourrait corrompre la morale des jeunes du pays, le gouvernement a refusé de leur accorder un permis.
Suivant les conseils du dalaï-lama, Paul McCartney est sûr que le concert sera couronné de succès et de paix, car il fait confiance au peuple.
Paul McCartney a ajouté: «Tout événement d?envergure est accompagné d?une certaine inquiétude, mais je suis entouré d?une bonne équipe. Je crois que la plupart des gens comprennent que mon message est universel et pacifique.
