L’un des deux survivants du légendaire groupe des Beatles, Paul McCartney, est arrivé en Israël cette nuit pour un concert exceptionnel.
Arrivé à bord de son avion privé avec une trentaine de musiciens, McCartney doit se produire demain soir au Parc Hayarkon de Tel-Aviv.
Aux journalistes et fans venus l’accueillir, il a affirmé vouloir apporter “un message de paix et d’amour”, selon ses propos retransmis par la radio publique israélienne.
En fin janvier, les autorités israéliennes ont formellement invité McCartney et Ringo Starr à se produire en Israël et présenté leurs excuses pour avoir claqué la porte il y a plus de quarante ans au groupe britannique.
A l’époque, le concert avait été annulé faute de subvention publique, alors que des députés avaient exprimé la crainte qu’un tel événement ne pervertisse la jeunesse.
Les deux autres membres du Fab Four ont disparu: John Lennon a été assassiné en 1980, tandis que George Harrison est mort d’un cancer en 2001.
