Comme vous le savez surement, c’est le 27 Septembre prochain que EMI va ré-éditer en version remasterisée, et remixée, l’album « Rock’n Roll » de John Lennon.
La nouvelle version qui sera publiée en cette fin 2004, outre le fait d’être vendue avec un livret revu et enrichi de photos rares et inédites, comportera 4 titres supplémentaires, et bénéficiera donc du track-listing ci-dessous :

Rappelons que cet album, publié le 17 Février 1975, a été enregistré les 21 et 25 Octobre 1974 (titres produits par John), et en Novembre et Décembre 1973 pour les titres produits par Phil Spector (Bony Moronie, Just Because, Sweet Little Sixteen et You can’t catch me).

John Lennon’s classic « Rock ‘n’ Roll » album is released on Parlophone on Sep 27, the fourth of John’s albums to be remixed and remastered.
The album, which was originally released in 1975, appears now with four bonus tracks and a new selection of b/w Lennon photographs in the booklet.
The bonus tracks are; « To Know Her Is To Love Her » and « Angel Baby », both remastered, « Since My Baby Left Me », a different version to the track included on ‘Menlove Avenue’, and a reprise of « Just Because », with an alternative ending and a very special Christmas message to Paul, George, Ringo, Yoko and the British people. Yoko was inspired to include this version of the track for all Lennon fans across the world, especially for the British fans.
« Rock ‘n’ Roll » paid tribute to John’s teenage idols, including Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Ben E. King and Buddy Holly. Sessions for the album began in LA in 1973 with Phil Spector producing; John returned to the album and completed it the following year, retaining three tracks produced by Spector. The album was produced by John Lennon.
The raw simplicity of ’50’s music came easily to him and the album reflects that power. The album cover features an incredible image of John as a young teddy boy in Hamburg, taken in 1961. He said in 1974, when discussing the image: « I thought, is this some kind of karmic thing? Here I am with this old picture of me in Hamburg from ’61, and I’m ending as I started, singing this straight rock ‘n’ roll stuff ».
