« Down To The River » est une chanson folk-country enregistrée lors des sessions de l’album « Off The Ground » de 1993, sortie en face B sur le single « C’Mon People ». Avant d’être enregistrée en studio, elle avait été interprétée en direct lors de la tournée estivale Unplugged 1991.

Apparemment écrite par Paul au cours d’une récente matinée de muesli, [Down to the River est] une rompue entraînante de style skiffle sur le thème « descendre là où les eaux coulent », marquée par une véritable première dans un concert de McCartney – jouer de l’orgue à bouche. Mais pas d’appendice dans le cou à la Dylan pour maintenir l’instrument en place, et c’est l’assistant spécial John Hammel qui se charge de rejoindre Paul au centre de la scène et de tenir physiquement l’harmonica près du micro.
