« Adeline » est la deuxième chanson de l’EP Crooked Boy de Ringo Starr, paru en 2024.
Le morceau a été coécrit par Ringo Starr, sous son véritable nom Richard Starkey, et Linda Perry. Celle-ci assure également la production de l’EP, après avoir déjà collaboré avec Ringo sur plusieurs de ses projets précédents.
Un EP préparé par Linda Perry
Ringo Starr a expliqué que Linda Perry avait conçu l’essentiel des pistes dans son propre studio avant de les lui envoyer pour qu’il y ajoute sa batterie et son chant :
« Linda m’a préparé un excellent EP. Elle l’a produit dans son studio, puis elle m’a envoyé les pistes et j’ai ajouté la batterie et mon chant. »

Le titre « Adeline » est un prénom et ne nécessite donc pas de traduction.
La chanson se distingue par une instrumentation plus riche que celle de « February Sky », avec plusieurs guitares, des claviers, du Mellotron et une section de cuivres réunissant saxophone, trombone et trompette.
Cette orchestration donne à « Adeline » une couleur plus ample tout en conservant le principe de travail adopté pour Crooked Boy : Linda Perry construit les morceaux, puis Ringo Starr vient y apporter sa voix et sa batterie.
