40 ans après que les Beatles ont reçu l’interdiction de se produire en Israël, Paul McCartney sera sur scène le 25 septembre prochain pour un concert exceptionnel dans le cadre des célébrations du 60 ème anniversaire de l’Etat juif.
Paul McCartney en concert à Tel Aviv, c’est peut-être un détail pour vous, mais en Israël ça veut dire beaucoup. D’ailleurs, 40 ans après l’interdiction faite aux Beatles de se produire dans le pays, on ne parle que de ça là-bas.
Rappelons qu’en 1965, les Beatles s’étaient vu interdire de chanter en Israël car les paroles de leurs tubes étaient de nature à corrompre la jeunesse israélienne selon les autorités de l’époque.
E!Online rapporte que récemment, l’ambassadeur israélien en Angleterre a adressé un courrier à Paul McCartney et Ringo Starr ainsi qu’aux familles de George Harrison et John Lennon pour s’excuser de cette interdiction. « Il n’y a aucun doute qu’il s’agissait d’une grande opportunité manquée que d’empêcher des gens comme vous, qui ont modelé les esprits de cette génération, de venir se produire en Israël », a écrit Ron Prosor.
Cependant, il convient d’observer une certaine réserve puisque le concert n’a pas encore été confirmé officiellement même s’il devrait l’être dans les prochains jours.
