CONCERT HISTORIQUE – « Paul est très heureux de pouvoir inscrire Israël sur la carte des lieux où il a joué », raconte un proche du chanteur au quotidien britannique The Sun. Méga-concert donc pour Paul McCartney qui va se produire en Israël le 25 septembre 2008 au Parc Hayarkon de Tel-Aviv.
Les billets vont se vendre entre 500 et 2 000 shekels. Même si le prix semble excessif, les Israéliens vont acheter en masse les billets.
McCartney s?est produit le 14 juin 2008 à Kiev, la capitale de l?Ukraine, à l?occasion d?un grand concert gratuit subventionné intégralement par un milliardaire ukrainien.
Paul McCartney a, à cette occasion, offert la possibilité aux Ukrainiens de choisir 10 chansons qu?il a interprétées lors de ce concert. Il a ainsi soumis au vote sur internet une liste d?une quarantaine de chansons, laissant à chacun la possibilité de voter pour ses deux préférées, s?engageant à intégrer les 10 morceaux qui arriveront en tête de classement à la clôture des votes lors de ce concert. La liste de titres soumise au vote couvre l?ensemble de sa carrière, des Beatles à ses titres solos en passant par les Wings, elle a également la formidable particularité de présenter des titres peu (Paperback Writer, All You Need Is Love, Silly love songs?) voir jamais (Girl, When I?m Sixty-Four, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, Oh! Darling, Your Mother Should Know, Pipes of peace, Mrs Vanderbit?) jouées sur scène jusqu?à aujourd?hui?
Le 20 juillet 2008, ce sont les fans de Québec qui ont pu profiter d?un concert gratuit, sur les Plaines d?Abraham, dans le cadre du 400e anniversaire de la ville. Le concert était précédé d?une prestation de The Stills et de Pascale Picard. Environ 270 000 personnes ont assisté à l?événement. Paul McCartney s?est adressé à la foule en français à maintes occasions pour rendre hommage aux Québécois et à la ville de Québec, à laquelle il a dédié la chanson Birthday.?
