Ringo Starr lets loose with an endless list of his superstar friends. Ringo himself handpicked the songs, chosen from worldwide concert highlights, featuring a multitude of All Starr Band line-ups. All the fun and variety of the live shows are captured here as legendary Rockers share the spotlight and join in with Ringo on his favourite solo and Beatles hits. This collection is a must for any true fan of Rock ‘N’ Roll…and the Beatles. Although still best known to the world as the Beatles’ drummer, Ringo Starr s All-Starr Band has consistently toured for two decades, rotating its line-up depending on the availability of various famous musicians at a given time. At an All-Starr Band concert Ringo performs Most of his solo hits and Beatles classics and then generously lets key band members step into the spotlight and take turns performing hits from their own careers. On the eve of a 31-date North American tour, Starr, who turned 70 on Wednesday, July 7, announced the line-up for the 11th All Starr tour. The 2010 edition will feature Rick Derringer, as well as Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, Mr. Mister s Richard Page, Wally Palmar of the Romantics and Gregg Bissonette. As an essential part of the revolutionary Fab Four , Ringo helped change and shape the world of pop music. Not only was his drumming consistent and reliable, providing an expertly measured framework for Lennon and McCartney’s perfect pop melodies, he also remains an influence on many of today’s finest rock drummers, and still his proficiency is still often under-rated. Ringo was also the primary writer of ‘Don’t Pass Me By’ and ‘Octopus’s Garden’, and took the lead vocal role on several songs including: ‘Don’t Pass Me By’ & ‘If You’ve Got Trouble’, ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ and ‘Yellow Submarine&’. After the Beatles split in 1970, Starr pursued a solo career. In the early 70’s he enjoyed a succession of hit singles and the accompanying albums were also bestsellers. He has continued to write and record as well as play drums on records by Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and a host of others.
