Buddy Holly initially played country music, but inspired by El Presley, he switched styles to perform rockabilly and rock n roll, producing many enduring classics with his band the Crickets and vocal group the Picks. His three year recording career was ended tragically in a plane crash in 1959 when he was just 22.
